Chaney’s Champions, a 501C3 non profit established to give teddy bears to children in need, will have a donation event on October 20, 2017 at 3pm at the Durham County Courthouse.
Chaney’s Champions is partnering with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office and the Hillsborough Police Department for this event. Through the support of our donors, 95 “Chaney Bears” will be given to Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews for use in his agency and 25 “Chaney Bears” will be given to Chief Duane Hampton for the Hillsborough Police Department. These bears will be used by Durham County Sheriff’s Office and Hillsborough Police Department personnel as they encounter children in crisis.
Chaney’s Champions donated 100 bears to the Apex Police Department in December 2016. Sine that time, more than 10 bears have been distributed by Apex Police Officers to children who have been involved in a variety of incidents ranging from motor vehicle crashes to witnesses of domestic violence.
Chaney’s Champions exists in memory of Chaney James Corcoran and we are pleased to be able to establish partnerships with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office and the Hillsborough Police Department. You can support our work by donating to Chaney’s Champions so we can continue to provide “Chaney Bears” to children in need…..#ChampionOn!
