Chaney’s Champions Announces New Partnerships with Multiple State of Michigan Law Enforcement Agencies

New partnerships with ten Michigan-based law enforcement agencies are being made possible through a generous donation from Sharon M. Peters. Ms Peters is donating in memory of her father, Detective Lieutenant Richard J Scott, who served 34+ years in the Roseville, Michigan Police Department. Donation event will occur in City of Grosse Pointe Woods on November 15, 2019
APEX, NC – Chaney’s Champions, a 501C3 non-profit based in Apex, NC, announces new partnerships with 10 Michigan-based law enforcement agencies. The partnerships will include a total donation of 250 of Chaney’s Champions’ Chaney Bears. The agencies include: Grosse Pointe Shores Police Department; Grosse Pointe Woods Police Department; Grosse Pointe Park Police Department: Grosse Pointe Farms Police Department; Grosse Pointe City Police Department; Harper Woods Police Department: St. Clair Shores Police Department; Eastpointe Police Department; Roseville Police Department; and the Macomb County Sheriff’s Department.
The new partnership is being made possible through a generous donation from Sharon M. Peters. Ms. Peters is donating to Chaney’s Champions in memory of her father, Detective Lieutenant Richard J. Scott, who served the Roseville, Michigan Police Department for 34+ years. Chaney’s Champions will be donating 250 of its GUND Chaney Bears to the law enforcement agencies at 10am on November 15, 2019. The event will take place at the City of Grosse Pointe Woods City Council Chambers at 20025 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI.
Chaney’s Champions was formed in 2016 and has donated 992 teddy bears to organizations that may encounter children in crisis situations. An additional 566 teddy bears are scheduled to be donated in the next several months, which will bring the total bears donated to 1,558. To date, Chaney’s Champions has donated, or is planning to donate, to the following organizations:

The donated “Chaney Bears” have been given by law enforcement officials to children affected by a variety of situations ranging from motor vehicle accidents to domestic violence incidents.

Chaney’s Champions Announces Donation of 50 Chaney’s Champions Teddy Bears to Zach’s Toy Chest

New Partnership with Zach’s Toy Chest is being made possible through Marathon Row Fundraising Event held on June 29, 2019 at CrossFit Surmount in Apex, NC. This is the fourth donation made possible as a result of the fundraiser. Donation event will occur on October 11, 2019
APEX, NC – Chaney’s Champions, a 501C3 non-profit based in Apex, NC, announces a donation of 50 of its GUND “Chaney Bears” to Zach’s Toy Chest, a Holly Springs, NC based non-profit that provides toys to pediatric cancer patients receiving treatment at UNC and Duke Children’s Hospitals. The donation is being made possible through a Marathon Rowing Fundraising Event that was held in June of this year at Apex, NC CrossFit Affiliate, CrossFit Surmount. This is the fourth partnership that has been announced as a result of the successful fundraising event. About Zach’s Toy ChestZach’s Toy Chest is a 501C3 non-profit located in Holly Springs, NC. Originally created to provide children receiving cancer treatments something to pass the time with and make their day a little brighter. Zach’s Toy Chest mission has been to help children focus on fun and play – not cancer, not the hospital. Over the last few years, Zach’s Toy Chest has grown tremendously and they are now able to supply both in and out patient areas of both Duke and UNC Children’s Hospitals. The organization is currently working to donate toys to the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital in Greenville, NC as well. Chaney’s Champions will be donating 100 of its GUND Chaney Bears to the Police Department on December 20, 2019 at 10am.

New Partnership with Garner Police Department is being made possible through Marathon Row Fundraising Event on June 29, 2019 at CrossFit Surmount in Apex, NC

The new partnership is being made possible through a Marathon Rowing Fundraising Event sponsored by Apex, NC CrossFit Affiliate, CrossFit Surmount. Chaney’s Champions was formed in 2016 and has given more than 800 teddy bears to organizations that may encounter children in crisis situations. The Marathon Row event will feature individuals and teams rowing the distance of a marathon (42,195 meters), half marathon (21,098 meters) or a 10,000 meter row. The rowing will be done on CrossFit Surmount’s rowing machines at their facility located at 7301 Vanclaybon Rd., Apex, NC 27532. When speaking about the Marathon Row event, CrossFit Surmount Owner Nick Magnini commented “Community is such a big part of our gym and our mission statement at CrossFit Surmount. We are actively involved and always looking for opportunities for our members to give back. Chaney’s Champions is an organization that we feel strongly, and their values align with ours. We are proud to partner with them in this event that will help so many in their times of need. “
Funds raised from the event will be used to provide Chaney’s Champions’ Chaney Bears to the Garner NC Police Department. When asked about the new partnership, Garner Police Chief Brandon Zuidema said “The Garner Police Department is very appreciative of the opportunity to partner with Chaney’s Champions to give our officers another means of reaching out to young people in our community and supporting them in their time of need.”
Once the fundraising event is completed on June 29, Chaney’s Champions will work with Garner Police Department to set a teddy bears donation event date and will announce the date to the public as well as the number of bears being donated.
