On May 21, 2016, Jeffrey and Krystal Corcoran had a charming, intelligent, playful, and determined baby boy named Chaney James Corcoran. He brought immeasurable joy to his family. Tragically, Chaney passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at just 10 weeks old. During his short life, he displayed unconditional love to the many that he encountered and inspired his family to carry on this same love to their community.
To honor Chaney and carry on his legacy, his family created Chaney’s Champions. After some deliberation by family members, they decided to focus their efforts on providing comfort to children who are experiencing difficult times. Chaney’s Champions provides teddy bears to organizations that support and protect children during their time of need. “Our goal is to expand the program over time so that additional kids and municipalities can benefit while also allowing our family to continue to heal the sizeable void left in our hearts by Chaney’s physical absence,” said Jeffrey.
