Chaney’s Champions Announces New Partnership with the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia

Donation of 100 Chaney Bears to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office is being made possible through the generosity of Patty Settimo. Donation will be made on August 7, 2020

APEX, NC – Chaney’s Champions, a 501C3 non-profit based in Apex, NC, announces a partnership with the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia. Chaney’s Champions will start the partnership with a donation of 100 of its GUND teddy bears. The donation is being made possible through a generous gift from Patty Settimo.

When asked her why she wanted to give to Chaney’s Champions, Ms. Settimo said. “These are in memory of my father, a Peace Officer for 35 years. Lt Det Richard J Scott. He was all about being a positive citizen in your community, and giving back to those in need. I’m honored to be able to do this in my surrounding communities. The positive impact and comfort the bears give to local children is a gift to me, and I’m sure my Dad would be happy. I’ve seen letters from firemen and police officers that gave a bear to a child in need, and they’ve brought tears to my eyes. This little gesture to a child that just lost everything in a fire is a beacon of hope to that child. Thank you for all that you’re doing with these in your nephews name. It’s wonderful and I’m so happy I can be a tiny part of that.”

Chaney’s Champions was formed in 2017 and has, or is planning to give, more than 2,000 teddy bears to organizations that may encounter children in crisis situations. To fulfill its mission, Chaney’s Champions depends on the generous financial support of family, friends, & members of the surrounding community.
